Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.

After the horribly hot & humid weather last weekend, the much more manageable temps continue this weekend. I might actually spend some time outside without wanting to die!

Not sure what we’re doing tonight…but I’ve got the Rock Stop tomorrow at Shep’s Riverside Bar & Grill from 11:30am until 1:05pm. You can see a full list of the remaining Rock Stops by clicking here.

After the Rock Stop, there’s going to be a celebration of life for Kyle Prentice, the owner of the Helm. Looking forward to seeing all the Helm-Doggies & remembering a great guy who passed away WAY too soon.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in the Coulee Region, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – THE 19TH ANNUAL IRISHFEST @ THE SOUTHSIDE OKTOBERFEST GROUNDS

The 19th Annual IrishFest is this Friday, Saturday, & Sunday at the Southside Festgrounds with live music, food, performances, Irish dancing, vendors, the Kilt Run, Highland games, Irish Bingo, the genealogy tent, and much more!

I love this event. Spent some time in the genealogy tent a few years ago and it got me started on a family tree project that has revealed some really interesting stuff about my grandparents, great-grandparents, and more! The Harp Twins are a MUST-SEE, and if you’re looking for a great gift for that Irish fan this Christmas, the vendor market has plenty of options!

You can find all the info on IrishFest by going to the website, and you can also buy tickets online here.

SATURDAY – BOBCAT OF THE COULEE REGION DOUBLE LATE MODEL FEATURES @ THE LA CROSSE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY

After struggling with rain during the first couple of months of the racing season, the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway has been cranking it up the last few weeks with only a couple more chances to get out & enjoy some local, small-track racing before the annual Oktoberfest race weekend.

This Saturday night, you can enjoy Late Models, Sportsmen, Hornets, Street Stocks, the Mini-Van race, and the always hilarious “Spin-to-Win” race!

Tickets are extremely affordable, and can be purchased at the gate, or get them online here!

Gates & qualifying begins at 5:30pm with races starting at 7pm.

Also on Saturday night at the Speedway, The Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models will compete in honor of the late Don Dionne on Saturday Night, August 10th. Dionne was the Speedway’s Pace Truck Driver for a decade, and was not only a fan favorite, but was liked by so many that knew him in the Speedway’s competitor racing family.

SUNDAY – LA CROSSE LOGGERS PLAYOFF BASEBALL @ THE LUMBERYARD

Your La Crosse Loggers are back in the Northwoods League playoffs and they are hosting either the Duluth Huskies or the Eau Claire Express on Sunday at Copeland Park.

First pitch will be at 5:05pm and tickets are on sale right now at LaCrosseLoggers.com

Don’t miss out on the action as we cheer on the Loggers in the playoffs! #RollLogs

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com

And if you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like to see featured on AroundRiverCity.com, you can submit it for free here.
