Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
Looks like we’re going to get a break from the rain this weekend!
Need it, too. Hopefully the river continues to go down as there’s been a ton of flooding throughout the area.
I’ve got the Rock Stop this afternoon at the Elbow Room in Tomah from 4-5:35pm with our friends from Twisted Tea, and then I’ll be a Shep’s Riverside Bar & Grill tomorrow from 11:30am until 1:05pm for another shot at the bike.
Check out the list of remaining Rock Stops here.
After that, not really sure what I’ll be doing this weekend. Definitely need to mow the lawn at some point, and I’d like to start working on that tree that fell down in our backyard while we were on vacation. We’ll see. Maybe a ride on the Harley somewhere.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in the area, here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY – CRAWFISH & COLDIES @ THE PEARL ST. BREWERY
Joe from the PSB texted me about this the other day and if I wasn’t going to be in Tomah for the Rock Stop this afternoon, I’d be at the Pearl St. Brewery, devouring some crawfish & sucking down some tasty brews.
If beer isn’t your thing, don’t worry! They’ve got ciders and wine available in the taproom at the Pearl St. Brewery.
Tickets for this event are $60 in advance online, or get them at the door for $61.

SATURDAY – 9TH ANNUAL CELEBRATE ONALASKA @ VAN RIPER PARK
A great, FAMILY event with live music, food, fireworks, & so much more! Did I mention it’s FREE to attend???
It’s the 9th Annual ‘Celebrate Onalaska‘ at Van Riper Park on Riders Club Road.
Get there early(11am) & register for the Cornhole tournament that starts at noon. Check out the Family Fun Zone with inflatable rides, face-painting, a balloon artist, & more starting at 5pm.
The food tent starts serving up the vittles at 5pm, with burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips & beverages available for purchase. Live music from Tabasco Cat at 5:15pm
Followed by more tunes from Mason Dixon Line at 6:45pm.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a party without some fireworks! Stick around after Mason Dixon Line for the Festival Foods “Salute to the 4th” fireworks display. It’s truly one of the best in the area!

SUNDAY – WINGAPALOOZA WING FLING SHOWDOWN @ THE RADISSON BALLROOM
I like wings. Especially when there’s a variety of them to try. I just gotta stay away from the hot stuff. Can’t do it. My body shuts down.
Thankfully, at this Sunday’s “Wingapalooza Wing Fling” at the Radisson Center Ballroom, there will be plenty of wings to choose from!
You can stop by between 11am – 3pm to sample delicious, mouth-watering wings from local restaurants, organizations, & chefs…and then VOTE on your favorites!
It’s just $20 to try the wings, with tickets available at the door. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and some additional giveaways during the event.
All proceeds support Black Leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge Inc. (BLACK), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the Greater La Crosse Black Community through leadership, education, and advocacy.
