Is the XBox Worth It?

Is the XBox Series S/X a worthwhile purchase?

Okay, well the obvious answer is, yes.
If you’re already an XBox kinda person, than getting yourself into the current gen systems is going to be definitely worth it to you. The speed of these new systems cuts loading times in half, has sharper images, and smoother gameplay motion.

But that’s if you’re already an XBox person.
What I’m really getting at is, if you’re NOT already an XBox person, is picking up the new system worth it?

In that sense, probably not. At least, not yet.
Playstation and Nintendo both have the exclusives that make having those systems much more worthy at current moment. Both are about to add to that long list of exclusives this fall/winter with multiple game releases such as Spider-Man 2 and a new Peach standalone title. As of right now, the biggest thing XBox has for an exclusive is Starfield, which has very mixed reviews. It’s a Bethesda game, and those tend to do well with time, but only time can really tell.

However, coming in the next few years will be a new Elder Scrolls game, and eventually a new Fallout title will be on the horizon too. Those games were supposed to be released for all platforms, but now it appears they will join Starfield as XBox exclusives. This is where the tides will likely turn, at least partially, for XBox.
To be honest, I was already considering getting an XBox when those titles released anyway. Because while I’m more of a PS5 guy, it’s very clear the better experience was going to be tailored to XBox. Now it appears to no longer be a choice.

So if you’re a PS or Nintendo kinda person, is an XBox worth adding to your collection?
Yes, but not specifically yet. If you can somehow find one cheap, I’d suggest going for it. But I don’t see it being a big deal until the rest of the Bethesda titles hit.
