Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

My air conditioning has been on for the last week and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. It’s going to be steamy all this weekend and I definitely plan on spending some quality time in my ice-cold basement.

But I will be getting outta the house on a couple of occasions, including Bacon Fest at Copeland Park on Saturday, and a Rock Stop on Sunday at Smokes 4 Less on Mormon Coulee Rd. The 95 Days of Summer have officially kicked off, and you can find out more about the bike here, and see a full list of the Rock Stops by clicking here!

If you’re looking for something to do in the La Crosse area this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – YOUR MOM @ MOXIE’S

Sure, your mom might actually be at Moxie’s Pub & Tiki Bar, but Your Mom will also be there, providing the sweet jams for your beach vibes!

LOVE what they’ve done at Moxie’s with the Tiki Bar, but get there early, because it gets packed! They’ve got a great staff to provide you with all the food & drinks you want, and Your Mom provides the tunes.

They play everything from Jimmy Eat World to Joan Jett. From Nelly to Blink 182.

Show starts at 7pm and there’s NO cover charge! Find more info on this event here.

SATURDAY – CHICKEN-Q FOR THE ROBERTS FAMILY @ THE BRICE PRAIRIE FIRE & EMS

On May 16th, Mark and Nikki Roberts & their two children lost their home to a house fire. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but the fire destroyed the entire home and the Roberts are working toward rebuilding and starting over in the same place.

The Brice Prairie Lions Clubs are hosting a Chicken-Q at the Brice Prairie First Responders building starting at 10:30am until gone, and all of the proceeds will benefit the Roberts family as they rebuild.

Chicken-Q costs $12 for a 1/2 chicken, plus mac & cheese, coleslaw, dinner roll & butter. All sides are being graciously donated by Angry’s Way Out!

SATURDAY NIGHT – KID’S NIGHT/ROCK NIGHT @ THE LA CROSSE SPEEDWAY

That’s right!!! It’s Rock Night at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway & we’ll be on the party deck with our friends from Fastenal for a night of food, drinks & racing!

Plus, it’s Kid’s Night at the races. All kids 11 and under get in FREE! Get to the track early and participate in the pre-race kid’s rides before the action on the track!

This week’s line-up includes double features for the NASCAR Late Models, NASCAR Sportsmen, NASCAR Hornets, 6 Shooters, and the High School Racing Association!

Gates open at 5:30pm with qualifying beginning right away. Races start at 7pm. Kids 11 & under get in for free, student tickets are just $8, adult tickets are $16, and seniors get in for just $14. They also have family packs available for just $35!

You can buy your tickets online here, or get them at the gate. See the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway‘s full schedule of events here.

SUNDAY – ANDY NILES CANCER BENEFIT @ THE ONALASKA AMERICAN LEGION

In October of 2022, Andy Niles was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Although he just finished his last round of chemotherapy, he still has a long road ahead of him. He recently underwent surgery & is unalbe to work, causing financial strain. His wife, Teri, is also battling medical issues and is unable to work.

There will be a benefit for Andy at the Onalaska American Legion from 11am until 4pm on Sunday with food & soda, a cash bar, a 50/50 raffle, a live auction, a firearm raffle, tip boards & more!

Find more info on this event here.

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com
