You’re Not Supposed to Kick Ice Chunks Off Your Car?

I wanna open by saying you should definitely remove ice chunks from your wheel well. It can damage the tire and erode your frame. They just don’t want you to kick them off. You should apparently be using your ice scraper or a de-icer spray.
Let me take a second to say what we’re all thinking…

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, back to business. The reason you evidently shouldn’t kick them off is because hundreds of people come to the doctor every winter with broken toes because of this. I suppose that’s a fair enough assessment. We’ve all kicked a chunk that was way above our weight class.
But come on, man. I’m not gonna stop kicking off the chunks. It’s far too satisfying. We all know how good it feels when you get a good one. Just be careful. Give the chunk a tap first to see what you’re dealing with, then turn around and use the bottom of your foot instead of your toes. There. A solution that satisfies everyone’s needs.

One thing I will say is to not use a hammer. One false move and you’ve got a new dent, or worse, a new hole in your vehicle.
