My Son’s Favorite Halloween Specials

Halloween is on the way, and no one is happier about that than my 4 year old son. Halloween is his JAM! In fact, he’s had us watching Halloween stuff since August. I love Halloween myself, but I must admit, it’s been a bit much. But I certainly don’t want to curb his enthusiasm for a truly awesome holiday, so I let him have at it. With that in mind, I figured I would share with you his top 3 Halloween specials that he’s been most crazy about. He’s the expert, after all.

Number 3: Spookley the Square Pumpkin

Spookley the Square Pumpkin

This title is pretty self explanatory. It’s an adorable tale about a square pumpkin. It’s one of those stories that teaches children that it’s okay to be different. He faces bullying in the beginning of the story, but his character prevails and eventually wins everyone over. It’s based off of a 2001 book called, “The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin”, written by Joe Troiano. It can be found on Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime.

Number 2: Pinkfong Halloween Songs

Pinkfong Halloween Songs

Yeah, I know. You may be off-put by this if you’re not a fan of “Baby Shark”, as it’s by the same makers. I know I’ve certainly had my fill of that song, and I would understand if you weren’t as keen on trying this out. But I promise it’s not nearly as annoying. There are seemingly countless songs that your little one will very likely be into. You’ll even find yourself singing them, because there are some that are admittedly very catchy. Pinkfong Halloween songs can be found on YouTube and Amazon Prime, or just listened to on Spotify, Pandora, YouTube Music, or Apple Music.

Number 1: Steve and Maggie Halloween

Steve and Maggie Halloween

Now this one I actually like a lot myself. Steve and Maggie is a British program that was initially geared towards teaching children English, but provides quality entertainment for children in general. The regular programming is good, but the Halloween episodes are great as well. It features both songs and stories told by Steve, and his mischievous magpie, Maggie. If you’re looking for some new programming to change things up with your kids, Steve and Maggie makes for a fun choice. It can be found on YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Tubi.

So there you have it. I hope my son’s taste in Halloween specials is to the liking of your children as well. I’m sure they’ll enjoy them as much as he does. You may catch yourselves singing along, as we prepare for one of the most fun holidays of the year.

Happy Halloween!
