Top 20 Xmas movies?
This ain’t the first, and it definitely won’t be the last.
But USA Today put together a list of the “20 Best Christmas Movies” of all time and it’s not good.
Props for putting one of my favorites in the top spot, though. “Scrooged” is a wonderful take on “A Christmas Carol”, with the incomparable BFM in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge(AKA, Frank Cross). My favorite scene is when the kid finally speaks at the end(sorry, but I tear up EVERY time)…but if you’re looking for a laugh, you can’t go wrong with the nipple scene.
Number two on their list is the all time classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. I hate this movie. I’ve always hated it and I will continue to loathe it until the end of time. I know a ton of people love it, but I refuse to watch this movie.
I’d put “A Christmas Story” at number two instead. But USA Today’s list has Ralphie stuck at #10 for some reason.
The third on their list is a solid pick with “Elf”. Will Ferrell is hilarious, it’s extremely quotable, and in the end, even the most bitter Grinch can’t help but feel the Christmas Spirit.
The fourth movie on their list should be a crime. “Love Actually” sucks. And I wish it was never made. What a shit movie. Barf City. I give it -69 out of 100 stars. Gross.
They’ve definitely got some of the great ones, but the list is missing “The Ref”, “Krampus”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and “Bad Santa” to name a few.
