Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.

What a crazy ass week.

Summer-like weather on Monday, a near blizzard by Wednesday, back into the 50’s on Friday.

Welcome to March in Wisconsin.

I’ll be in Eau Claire today & tonight for a “Skip Day” at the VFW on Starr Ave. to watch some college basketball & give away some Rock Fest tickets. Probably hit a brewery or two while we’re in town.

Then we’re probably going to go down the river road on Saturday evening for some dinner with friends.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – PINTS FOR POLIO – FUNDRAISER & SOCIAL @ THE PEARL ST. BREWERY

Get to the Pearl St. Brewery tonight starting at 6:30pm for the Rotary After Hours “Pints for Polio” fundraiser & social.

It’s $20 per person and that includes a tour of the brewery, some tastings, live music, trivia & more! There will be pizza & snacks available, and all proceeds will be donated to Polio Plus.

You can find out more info on this event here.

SATURDAY – HAIRBALL @ THE ONALASKA OMNI CENTER

Celebrate Hairball‘s 25th Anniversary with another monster show at the Onalaska Omni Center this Saturday night!

Doors open at 6pm for this all ages show & music kicks off at 7pm with Rival 5…and then HAIRBALL!

VIP tickets have SOLD OUT, but there’s still plenty of GA tickets available in advance online or you can pick yours up at the door.

Cash & credit accepted, and food will be available. There is first come/first serve seating in the bleachers at the Omni Center, and standing room on the floor of the arena.

SUNDAY – CHASEBURG AREA CANCER WALK CHICKEN-Q & BAKE SALE

Chicken-Q season continues in Chaseburg this weekend with their “Best Ever Chicken” Q & bake sale at the Tippy Toe Inn starting at 11am until the chicken is gone!

You can drive through or dine in, and homemade pastries & baked goods will also be available for purchase.

The Q costs $15 and includes a 1/2 chicken grilled to perfection, a baked potato, coleslaw, and a roll.

All are welcome and the proceeds from this event will go to the Chaseburg Area Cancer Walk that happens on Saturday, September 20th.
