Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend
The weather continues to cool off, I’m drinking NOTHING but Festbiers for the next few months, and almost all of my Halloween decorations are out!
Bring on the end of summer.
I’m ready for football, Oktoberfest, hoodies, and meals in the crockpot.
We’ve got a few friends that are moving to Florida in the near future, so we’ll be heading to West Salem on Saturday to wish them well, and on Sunday we’ll be at Features in Holmen for the bike giveaway(more on that in a bit)…but other than that, I don’t have any major plans this weekend.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in our area, here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY 9/6 – IT’S FALL, Y’ALL @ ECKER’S APPLE FARM
LOVE going to Ecker’s in the fall.
They’ve got a wonderful stage with plenty of live music, a really nice beer selection at their outdoor beer garden, food trucks, and plenty of apples & apple pies!
This weekend, they’re celebrating the upcoming season on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday at Ecker’s.
Stop by and pick some apples, enjoy train rides for the kids, play some yard games like cornhole, grab a bite to eat and listen some tunes.
On Friday, the orchard opens at noon, with the beer garden opening at 4pm…with $5 beers & ciders until 8pm. On Saturday, they open at noon with live music from Ready Seth Go starting at 2pm, and the Eat, Eat, Repeat & Taco Town food trucks on the property. Noon again on Sunday with tune from Allison Sky at 2pm, and the Eat, Eat, Repeat food truck stopping by.

SATURDAY – 9/7 – WESTERN TECHNICAL COLLEGE NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION @ THE LA CROSSE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY
BIGFOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you honestly need anything else besides the legendary Bigfoot Monster Truck destroying cars on the front stretch at the La Crosse Fairgrounds speedway?????
Well, you’re in luck…because there’s also going to be a Jet Car Meltdown, the six-shooters & mini-vans racing for glory…plus, the famous “Trailer Race of Destruction” and a massive fireworks show to cap it all off!
Gates at the Speedway open at 5:30pm and the DESTRUCTION gets underway at 7pm. Tickets are very affordable & can be purchased in advance online here, or get yours at the gate!

SUNDAY – 9/8 – THE END OF SUMMER BASH @ FEATURES IN HOLMEN
This is it, Bania. This is the giveaway.
The 95 Days of Summer OFFICIALLY comes to an end this Sunday at Features in Holmen with the 2024 End of Summer Bash.
We’ve been towing around the brand new, Harley-Davidson Low Rider S since June 1st, qualifying people from all over the Coulee Region, and now it’s time to find out who’s gonna win this bad boy.
Check-in/Registration starts at noon, and we’ll qualify two more people before we start the giveaway at 1:30pm.
They’ve got plenty of great food & ice cold drinks at Features in Holmen, along with the best staff to take care of you!
