Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
Technically, Summer doesn’t come to an end for a few more weeks…but for all intents & purposes, this is the final few days of the season for most people.
One more long weekend to go camping, get out on the river, hit the beach, grill out, drink some backyard beers, jump in the pool….whatever trips your trigger.
It’s also the last weekend of Rock Stops, and I’ll be at Shep’s Riverside Bar & Grill on Saturday from 11:30am until 1:05pm for the penultimate shot at the bike. Click here for a full list of the remaining Rock Stops.
If you’re looking for something to do in the Coulee Region the next couple of days, you’re in luck! There’s plenty of stuff happening, and here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY – BRYCE THOMASCHEFSKY BAND @ FOX HOLLOW GOLF COURSE
After a chaotic rollercoaster of 70’s followed by 90’s and excessive heat warnings, the weather has finally settled down and it’s going to be B-E-A-utiful on the patio at Fox Hollow golf course for some live tunes from the Bryce Thomaschefsky Band tonight.
Band starts at 6:30ish, and seats are limited on the patio. So, throw a lawn chair in the trunk & get your rear-end to Fox Hollow in Barre Mills tonight.
Come early & take advantage of their Friday Fish special, or grab a pizza and a beer & chill!

SATURDAY – REMODEL PARTY @ GREAT RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON
Hard hats NOT required!
In case you haven’t noticed, our friends at Great River Harley-Davidson are undergoing a massive remodel that should be completed sometime next year. But, the store remains open, and they’ve got free food, demo rides, door prizes, and construction specials this Saturday during their Remodel Party.
Things get started at 11:30am as Brody will don the apron & start grilling brats for hungry customers! There’s plenty of fantastic riding weather ahead, so keep your bike in tip-top shape by bringing it to Great River HD for a service, and make sure you ask about their limited-edition Oktoberfest shirts!!!

SUNDAY – 7th ANNUAL ROCK THE VETS @ THE FRENCH ISLAND AMERICAN LEGION POST 417
The 7th Annual Rock The Vets fundraiser is this Sunday at the French Island American Legion Post 417 from noon until 7pm!
Food, drinks, live music, dancing, and more!
Proceeds from this event will go to the Freedom Honor Flight, which flies veterans free-of-charge to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor.
Tickets for this all-ages event are $20 and can be purchased at the French Island American Legion Post 417 during business hours, or you can grab yours at the gate the day of the show.
Two stages & eight bands for constant music & entertainment throughout the day, and a giant tent to enjoy the tunes in the shade!
This year’s line up includes The Executives, Dave Rogers & the Tone Benders, LB & the Highvolts, the Craig Olson Project, NOBz, Big Liquor, Stripped Down, and Remix with Cody Ward!
