Benefit for Keanna

Keanna Barney is a 19 year old who grew up in West Salem. She graduated in May of 2023 and was planning to attend college with the dream of becoming a registered nurse.

Unfortunately, in August of 2023, she suffered a seizure. One of many, in fact, that eventually took away her ability to walk or talk. She spent five days in the hospital, undergoing test after test to determine the cause of her seizures.

Sadly, no true reason was found. She began therapy & rehab to regain her ability to walk and to talk. After being seizure free since August of 2023, Keanna suffered 17 seizures in just 48 hours this past April.

Keanna was flown to Iowa City for more testing, and was eventually diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder.

She is no longer able to work, and her medical bills are continuing to pile up.

There will be a benefit for Keanna on Sunday, July 28th at the American Legion Post 51 in West Salem from noon until 6pm.
