After two weeks of vacation, I made it back to La Crosse for a full week of Rock Stops, work, and doggie day-care.
Now that the weekend is here, I’ve got the Rock Stop on Saturday at Shep’s Riverside Bar & Grill(see the full schedule here), our additional doggie roommates have gone home, and the wife is leaving on Sunday for a New Kids on the Block show. Not sure what kind of trouble I can get myself into, but I’m positive I’ll find something.
If you’re looking for options this weekend in the Coulee Region, here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY – THE LA CROSSE LOGGERS VS. THE WATERLOO BUCKS AT COPELAND PARK
After being on the road for the past week, the Loggers are back at the Lumberyard all this weekend for games against the Waterloo Bucks & the Thunder Bay Border Cats.
Tonight’s first pitch is at 6:35pm and tickets are available in advance on the Loggers website, at their offices on Caledonia St., or at the gate at the ballpark.
Also at Copeland Park tonight, a post-game fireworks extravaganza courtesy of River Valley Remodelers!
If you can’t make it to tonight’s game, they’ve got another contest against the Bucks tomorrow, and then a couple against the Border Cats on Sunday & Monday. Check out this season’s full schedule here.

SATURDAY – BROKEN LIZARD TAKE-OVER & MOVIE MARATHON @ THE RIVOLI THEATRE & PIZZERIA
EXTREMELY excited about this one! After I get done with the Rock Stop at Shep’s tomorrow, I’ll be heading to the Rivoli Theatre & Pizzeria in downtown La Crosse to hang out with Paul Soter & Erik Stolhanske from Broken Lizard!
This event gets started at 1pm with some story-telling, a question-and-answer session, three films, and a VIP mingle afterwards!
They’ll be showing ‘Super Troopers 2’ at 2pm, ‘Beer Fest’ at 5pm, and the original ‘Super Troopers’ at 8pm. The VIP mingle will follow the movie marathon with a chance to get pics with the guys & snag an autograph!
Tickets are still available on the Rivoli website, but don’t wait!

SUNDAY – LIVE MUSIC FROM “REMIX” ON THE PATIO @ FOX HOLLOW GOLF COURSE
Can’t go wrong on an #SundayFunday when you’ve got live tunes, a great venue, some incredible food, and one of the BEST beer selections in the entire Coulee Region.
Get to Fox Hollow on Sunday and enjoy live music from Remix, starting at 1pm on the patio. They’ve got absolutely delicious wood-fired pizzas at Fox Hollow, fantastic summer cocktails, and as I previously stated, one of the widest selections of beer in the area.
