Our annual “Talk Birdie to Me” golf outing is coming up on Friday. It’s an event we throw each year to raise money for the Rock Foundation at Valley High Golf Club. We thank you all for your continued support on that.
But part of our fun and games involves filling up blow up dolls and putting them on the course. It’s made for some fun times in these past 9 years. This year, I was tasked with filling them up (with air, you sickos), and this is where our story begins.
I took on the task of inflating the ladies because I have an electric air pump. I do a fair bit of camping and filling up the occasional air mattress happens enough to necessitate having one. So it made sense for me to be the one for the job. What I neglected to remember was that my air pump has a car connection as the electrical input. So I couldn’t do this from the privacy of the Rock Studio. I had to go to my car.
As you can imagine, I got some looks……
In hindsight, I should have done this in the Rock Truck. If you see someone in a radio station vehicle filling up blow up dolls, you don’t think much of it. You just assume that station is doing something funny with them, which is precisely what’s actually happening. But no. I just look like some creepo in a car full of blow up dolls, and that looks completely sus. *facepalm*
But after a few strange looks from passers-by, I got the job done. The ladies are ready for you on Friday.
