La Crosse Sport Show Fun
The La Crosse Sport Show has again come and gone, and a good time was had for all ages. I had the opportunity to take my son for some “dude time”. I’ve been into the outdoors for a long time, and he’s getting to the age where I can take him to experience more of it. The Sport Show provided me with an opportunity to get him into that world just a little bit more.
First, we made sure to check out Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel, a favorite for little kids and big kids alike. He loved the show, and even got to hold Twiggy afterwards. He wouldn’t stop talking about it. Then it was off to the kids fishing clinic, where a professional fisherman provided little ones with some very basic fishing tips. Much of which revolved around spending quality time with family, which is what fishing really is to many of us.
We also made sure to check out the parakeet landing. My son was all about that life. He loves animals and any opportunity to get close to them. Which brings us to our last stop, the live trout pond. It was meant for little ones to practice fishing, but quite frankly, my guy just liked walking around and looking at the fish.
This is definitely going to be a yearly thing for my boy and I, and my youngest will tag along with us as well when he gets old enough. The older they get, the more they’ll be excited about the outdoors, and the more fun they’ll have at this event. This year was already a blast.
