Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend!
Now that the 95 Days of Summer are officially over, the wife & I can actually get outta town for a weekend, and that’s EXACTLY what we’re planning on doing!
After Friday’s show, we’re heading to Des Moines to see the Dropkick Murphys & Mighty Mighty BossToneS at the Lauridsen Ampitheater. I’m extremely excited, as it’s been over 20 years since I last saw the Bosstones.
As long as they play “Where’d You Go” and “Someday I Suppose”, I’ll be a very happy boy.
We’ll probably hit a brewery or two on Saturday in the Des Moines area as many of them are having their Oktoberfest celebrations, and you KNOW I love a good festbier!
But, if you’re sticking around the Coulee Region this weekend & you’re looking for somethin’ to do, here’s a few suggestions:
Later tonight, expand your mind with the album encounter at the UWL Planetarium, featuring Pink Floyd‘s “Meddle”
Far out, man.
A multimedia laser light show for just $5! Show is from 8pm until 9pm and you can find more info here.
On Saturday, there’s a bunch of stuff happening in the area, and if you’re hungry Saturday afternoon, you can head to Eitzen for the Fire Department‘s chicken-Q from 4:30pm until 7pm or gone.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 day of. Pre-sale ticket meals held until 5:30pm.
Saturday night, dust of that leather jacket and get to the Boot Hill Pub Dock 7 for some incredible live music from “Madman’s Diary“, the ULTIMATE Ozzy tribute band. They’ll be joined by “Nightrain International“, the number one Guns ‘n Roses tribute band!
Doors are at 6pm, and the music starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 in advance or $23 at the door. Get them online here.
On Sunday, if you haven’t been to Applefest all weekend, here’s your chance! Head over the big blue bridge to the fine city of La Crescent & check out Pigtown Fling performing live starting at 6pm.
Get to the festgrounds early & check out the flea market, grab a beer, & take advantage of wristband day!
As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening this weekend, and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com.
