Summer Party Tip – Songs to add to your road trip playlist.
I recently saw a list of American’s “must have” songs for a road trip playlist and kinda laughed & puked at the same time.
Are we REALLY this boring?
The top five songs were:
5. “On the Road Again” by Willie Nelson
4. “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver
3. “Life is a Highway” by Tom Cochrane
2. “Hotel California” by The Eagles
- “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Now, those are all-time classics. But you can hear them on any radio station anywhere in America, or playing on any jukebox in any bar in any town.
Seems rather monotonous.
Now, if I were to go on a road trip & make a playlist of some of my “must have” songs, it’d go a little more like this:
Green Day – 2000 Light Years Away
Limp Bizkit – 9 Teen 90 Nine
Faith No More – Be Aggressive
Biohazard – Wrong Side Of The Tracks
Metallica – Battery
Faith No More & Boo Yaa Tribe – Another Body Murdered(From the “Judgement Night” soundtrack”)
Denis Leary – Asshole
Deftones – Be Quiet & Drive
Korn – Blind
Ice Cube – Bop Gun
Kittie – Brackish
Prodigy – Breathe
Clutch – Elephant Riders
Beastie Boys – Intergalactic
Royal Bliss – Crazy
Ghetto Boys – Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangster
Marilyn Manson – Get Your Gunn
Jimmies Chicken Shack – Do Right
Firehouse – Reach For The Sky
L7 – Pretend That We’re Dead
Rage Against The Machine – Fistful of Steel
Tenacious D – F**k Her Gently
Cake – Stickshifts & Safety Belts
Megadeth – Polaris
Public Enemy – He Got Game
Black Stone Cherry – Hell & High Water
Goldfinger – Here In Your Bedroom
Hall & Oates – I Can’t Go For That
Oleander – I Walk Alone
ELO – Mr. Blue Sky
Helmet & House Of Pain – Just Another Victim(Again, from the “Judgement Night” soundtrack)
Skid Row – Monkey Business
Poison – Ride The Wind
Slayer – Seasons In The Abyss
Cold – Just Got Wicked
Type O Negative – I Know You’re F**king Someone Else
Body Count – There Goes The Neighborhood
There are MANY other songs I’d put on my “must-have” playlist for a road trip, but I’d definitely start with these.
What would you put on yours?
