Pints with Puck: Sweetwater 420 Extra Pale Ale
Created on April 20th back in 1997, and that’s where to 420 in the 420 Extra Pale Ale comes from. And Atlanta. They make it in Atlanta. And although Hops and Weed are related genetically, there’s no weed in this beer.
This is definitely a day-drinker. By that, I mean, it works great for day drinking… AND… it’s an all day drinker. You can (and will want to) have more than one. Light, crisp, refreshing, well balanced, and um… just listen:
Although I normally avoid pale ales with spicy food, 420 Extra Pale Ale worked pretty darn good with a Ham & Pepper Jack sandwich. Totally Delish. That being said, maybe not with something super hot like flame-thrower wings. Extra spicy foods will taste even extra spicy(er) with a hoppy beer.
Camping, River, BBQ, Ball Game, heck even after mowing the yard… this is an excellent beer. Great cooler beer, great party beer, great relaxing-in-the-hammock beer. And it’s available year-round at most of your favorite beer stores.
I just grabbed an extra sixer for my vacation next week…
Pints with Puck – Every Thursday around beer-thirty. That’s noon-ish in Wisconsin Standard Time. Check out Puck LIVE 10:00-2:00 weekdays. Listen Here
