The Future of Concerts Start in the U.K.
The U.K. had their first socially distant concert yesterday in Newcastle. To be blunt, it doesn’t look all that bad. I mean look at it.
You get your own little area with your pals, some seats and plenty of room to bail out to get a drink or pee. I’ve been to hundreds of shows and the worst part has always been prying your way out the crowd then trying to squeeze back to your spot. If you’re like me and bigger than the average bear you make a lot of non-friends along the way too.
Now I know what you’re saying, “This sucks. When I go to a concert I wanna be all up in there and hang out with everyone in the crowd.” That’s a great sentiment and honestly I wish we could be doing that now but we can’t. Well unless you’re in Sturgis…
And look I’m not trying to yuck anyone’s yum. If you wanna go to shows like this right now you are more than able to. God knows I wish I was throwing down outside a pit because I’m old and feeble and don’t wanna get punched in the nuts again. But right now this is the hand we’ve been dealt. I’m 100% onboard with these socially distant concerts, and maybe sooner rather than later we can get back into the pits.
If you are still reading and haven’t gotten mad and yelled at me in the comments yet know that I appreciate you. And I really cannot wait to hangout with you at a show. \m/
