Ed Shawley Benefit
Ed Shawley, a husband, a father to three and a grandfather of four, was diagnosed last October with Multiple Symptom Atrophy, otherwise known as, MSA.
MSA is a rare neurological disease that attacks multiple areas of the brain, including the cerebellum. It causes irreversible and progressive damage as it spreads rapidly, depleting your ability to walk, talk, write, sleep, balance, swallow, and eventually breathe.
After onset of initial symptoms, the average life span is 7.9 years. Nearly 80% of patients are disabled within 5 years and desolately, only 20% survive past 12 years.
Ed, a 52 year old Marine, is losing the quality of life that no one deserves to lose.
There will be a benefit for Ed and his family on Saturday, June 6th at the Onalaska American Legion.
This event will feature a poker run, live music by the Spare Parts Project, kids games, inflatables, auctions, food and beverages, a bake sale, tip boards, raffles and much more!
